Castlerigg Stone Circle, Cumbria
Castlerigg stone circle has to be one of the most beautiful and mystical places in the world. This stone circle dates from around 3000 BC and is set in a splendid part of Cumbria. The stones formed in a circle are set in an open and isolated area surrounded by the mountains of the Lake District in the north of England. In prehistoric times it was probably used for religious ceremonies, tribal gatherings and trading. As ever many interesting and bizarre local legends exist!
Castlerigg jest bez wątpienia jednym z najpiękniejszych i najbardziej tajemniczych miejsc na świecie. Ten kamienny krąg pochodzi sprzed 5000 lat i znajduje się w przepięknej części hrabstwa Cumbria. Kamienie tworzące okrąg ułożone zostały na otwartym i odludnym terenie, otoczonym przez góry stanowiące część Lake District. W czasach prehistorycznych było to miejsce, w którym odbywały się ceremonie religijne, spotkania plemienne oraz handel. Z miejscem tym związanych jest również wiele interesujących i dziwnych legend!
